Shakeeb Abu Hamdan is an artist, musician and recording/sound engineer living in Beirut, Lebanon.
His visual practice consists of systems of drawings, found illustrations and texts that relate to the construction of historical narrative. His work occupies a space somewhere between contemporary art and experimental comics and takes the form of publications and print/drawing installations. His sound-based work spans performance (mainly drums, percussion and electronics), experimental composition and sound for film.
He was actively involved in DIY music communities in the UK over the years, playing in various experimental rock/weird punk bands and running Ouse, a recording studio and label, the C&R collective/zine and organizing Total Inertia, an experimental music festival in Leeds.
